Lytle Creek, California

I wanted to share a spot near and dear to my heart. I have brought my kids here for many years & I’ll show why with some photos. First off you will need to get a Forest Adventure Pass to park when you visit. You can pick one up at the ranger station on the way up. When we go I typically will pack up blankets, towels and lunch and set up our spot up in the middle of the creek. On some occasions we have lunch at one of the cutest roadside diners called Melody’s Place and Scotland Store. The staff is super friendly the beers are cold and the food is pretty great. There’s also a store attached where you can grab snacks to take to the creek.

Hopefully I was able to give you a glimpse of why this spot is so special. Although it’s beauty is clear to see, it’s also very very run down. People come and leave trash everywhere. When we go I bring a bag to grab what trash I can carry. There is no excuse for the trash that’s left. There are big dumpsters at the top of the hill where you park so its very frustrating to see. I decided toa trash pick up day and invite you to join if you can. I will be there Aug 23rd for a few hours with a group of others. If we all fill up 1 bag or trash it’d to wonders there. ┬áMeet up time is 2:30 at Melody’s place. Let’s have a beer and clean up the creek together! 551 Lytle Creek Rd. Lytle Creek
